What is freeze dried food and How it Works

Freeze Drying is suitable for biological products, foods, flavorings, pharmaceutical intermediates and agrochemicals. It is the process of removing water contained in a solid. Materials which degenerate due to the presence of water, sensitive to heat, prone to oxidation, etc., are best preserved by Freeze Drying. freeze dried food products maintain their texture, original shape, taste, and flavor. Freeze Drying causes food products to lose their weight, improve their shelf-life and lower their storage costs. Freeze Drying works by flash freezing food products, then placing them in a vacuum chamber. As the temperature is lowered to about -50°F, nearly 98% of the food moisture is drawn off. The frozen and dried food is then sealed in oxygen and moisture proof packets. Until opened, the food product remains fresh. After opening and replacing the water, the food product gets back its appearance, texture, aroma and fresh flavor.

What is dehydrated Food and How it Works

dehydrated foods are top-quality biological products and foods, picked in the peak of their ripeness and after cleaning and trimming, dehydrated with 98% of their moisture taken out. These are packed in special cans and hermetically sealed with an inert atmosphere. Dehydrated Foods retain their vitamins and nutritional value, but lose weight and size. Therefore, they can be packed in much smaller space compared to normal wet-packed food. After opening the can, the water loss is made good, and the food is ready to be cooked.

Freeze Dried Food Vs Dehydrated Food

Freeze dried food storage is very popular for many reasons. The flash freezing process leaves food storage meals in something like a state of “suspended animation.” When reconstituted the food gains back all of its original characteristics including taste, aroma, texture, and so on. Dehydrated food storage meals are also commonly used, but they don’t have as many perks as freeze dried food. The dehyration process alters the food so it has a different texture. It’s taste is also typically less flavorful and it tends to have lower nutritional value than freeze dried food storage.

Freeze dried food storage meals are a top choice because they are both delicious and nutritious. Some top food storage companies will even send you a sample meal so that you can the products before you buy.

the only way i know would be to use dry ice. It would be expensive and slightly dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing. Plus dry ice is hard to find in small towns.
